AIR TO LIFE MOVEMENT
About Us

OVERVIEW
Pollutants that are harmful to both human health and the entire planet are released into the air.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), nearly seven million fatalities worldwide occur each year as a result of air pollution. Nine out of ten people today live in countries with lower and moderate-income levels below the WHO's recommended limits for pollutants, which in turn, harms everyone.
Numerous harmful effects on human health might occur due to high air pollution levels. Long-term and short-term exposure to air pollution has been related to harmful health impacts. It increases the risk of respiratory infections, heart problems, and lung cancer. In addition, those who are already ill are more vulnerable to negative implications.
Environmental issues such as air pollution concerning human health, previously raised different social movements even before the 21st Century. Examples of this are the 1970-established Clean Air Act in the United States which controls the emissions of dangerous air pollutants and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) whose role is to protect public health.
As such, Air To Life Movement (ATLM) was created to address and work for the same objectives. Air To Life Movement works for the protection of the environment and the promotion of health safety, welfare, peace, and development of the people in the Philippines. ATLM was funded in 2020 and has reached 60 official members with various organizations helping the ATLM programs come to life.
Life cannot exist without air, but breathing contaminated air endangers us to a life of illness and early death.
Our
Purpose
The main purpose of this movement is to encourage every Filipino to make an action to the issue that has a big impact in every individual's life especially on the aspect of health. By conducting the ATLM programme, knowledge and awareness of how we should take care of our planet, environment, and even a little space of our house are given.
And as we learn more, we become more aware of the need to take significant care of this vital source of life.
This social movement also aims to evoke government's attention regarding the said
environmental and social issue, in the hope for a better approach, implementation, and
facilitation of public and private programs addressing the possible solutions for the issue at
hand.
SUPPORT
For implementation of the programme, the Air To Life Movement (ATLM) partnered with universities, fields expert and professionals, World Health Organization Philippines (WHO), Quezon City local government units and Barangay Sanggunian Kabataan (SK).
